What Does Business Liability Insurance Cover
Do you run a business that has business liability insurance? A lot of businesses have liability insurance but most people don’t know exactly what their liability insurance covers. What you need to understand is that you have all of this information listed on your policy. My advice would be to take a look at your liability insurance policy so that you know what is covered and what isn’t.
Although I can’t tell you exactly what your policy covers, I can give you a general idea of what you will be protected from. The first thing that you will be protected from is physical damage. The nice thing about having protection against physical damage is that you will not have to worry about your business being sued simply because somebody got injured by your product, service, or on your property. Having insurance that will protect you from things like a rolled ankle, a concussion due to a slip or fall, and injury due in part to a faulty product is very valuable. Trust me, as a business owner you can’t go without some kind of protection against physical damage.
Another thing that business liability insurance covers is your advertising. Do you have any idea what I am talking about here? What most people don’t think about is if they falsely advertise their business they can be sued because of it. Think about it, how many times do you see miss-prints in the newspaper? How many times do you hear companies being sued because they forgot to add some fine print to an add? These like this happen all the time and the law states that false advertising is a crime and some people will take this to the extreme and take you to court because of it. If you want to make sure you are protected then I would suggest looking into your liability insurance policy and see what it covers.
